Outlook- To do list
I utilize outlook for the TO DO list, I find it to be more efficient since I don't have to re-write everytime I revise the TO DO list. Any insight or tricks that could improve efficiency on Outlook?
A to do list keeps an instructor organized which lets them be in control of their time and be prepared for unexpected events. As a 64 year old part time instructor and full time domestic goddess:) I keep my to do list in my weekly planner. I can review it daily and determine if there are shifting priorities. I can also plan ahead and be prepared for my classes. It gives a sense of control and takes away any insecurity of being unprepared.
Daniel,
I use Outlook and it is linked to my Blackberry. The reminder feature is great. So low priority items have less time as a reminder and high priority items like incomplete grades being due tomorrow by noon have reminders for both tonight and tomorrow morning. While this does not always work perfectly it is a good backup when trying to keep 3 different schools and 6 different classes, plus training, plus keeping track of 2 boys schedules, and so on and so on and so on. I do make mistakes, but my biggest problem is immediacy where I feel like if I don't do it now I will forget so I go into outlook and remind myself at various points to reduce stress.

It surely takes away any insecurity of being unprepared.
Good going to be working as part time instructor and full time domestic goddess :)
Ha! Yes, being a 'domestic goddess' comes with it's own set of stressors but can be great.
I think that I should really consider the use of to do list, sometimes I write the thing that I need to do but having it in software that I can accesses all the time would be very helpful to take care of my work problems. Thank you for telling me about it.
Indeed! Having access anytime and anywhere through list software can give you a major advantage.
This is an awesome idea, especially since I can link my outlook with my iPhone and have it with me at all times.
Yes, isn't that wonderful Ciara! Our mobile devices are always with us. We feel lost without them. Some people leverage that in list keeping.
