manage time

sounds funny but even on my days off i make myself a to do list, by planning my work and working my plan, i actually end up with more free time!

yeah Chef...I do the same thing...sometimes in my head and sometimes on paper, leaves me with more time free and less stress getting things done

Sounds like you have a great system Joseph! Keep it up.

My problem is that I love making lists! Making lists turns into a form of procrastination sometimes. Do you find this to be true at times?

This is an interesting problem Gail but I do see your point. At some point, we have to stop planning on how we'll accomplish things and start just doing them.

i begin with the end in mind, and complete many tasks at the same time

I always try to make a to do list so I can be sure that all of my tasks are completed on time.

Not sure how this one will sound, but, at the end of each week I look at what I completed and then re-prioritize what is left over and look ahead to the following week. I leave a good amount of time each day for the "This just came up factor" and if nothing comes up then I move on to what is needed to be address next. The "Just came up factor" is actually floating time to be used for me when I need it most. Do I still stress... yes, but at least for me it does work about 85-90% of the time. No plan is totally perfect!

Great approach William! Yes, to do lists help instructors stay on schedule!

Making lists is a great idea and I try to do this every morning before I ever leave my house and then the drive to work I am planning how to best execute my list. I recently started a new position within the company and finding that time management is really key to having a successful day, and week. Even the best planning can be interrupted with the unexpected.

My weekends are also managed by a list, at least to some degree, and of course much more flexible
