Getting organized
It is good to be organized. Before I became a instructor. I was disorganized everything was out out order/out of place what ever you want to call it. The point is that, when you are disorganized you may find that life can become l stressful in not having a handle on things your life. I lot of times, we tend to get frustrated when we cannot find somethings or we dont remember where we put somethings, we get a rush. That rush tends to lead to a state of anger and stress. Keeping things in order is a way of organizing, that way you can pretty much now what to do, where to look and a sense of remembering where things are.
I agree that organization is very important. It helps a great deal to affiliate with other professionals who are organized. The importance of organization is a cultural value, and organizations, including educational institutions, vary a great deal in how well they are organized. I teach organizational behavior and development, among other things, and this value has a great influence on organizational effectiveness.
For me, being organized is the key to everything. I can't even think straight until I have my materials organized. Not only that, but after a while, you accumulate so many materials that you have to have a good system to find what you need.
I agree Amy. Good organization can give you more than the ability to find things. It can give you piece of mind.
I am very OCD and that's what my staff and instructors call me. I am very organized and at times too organized. I have a small notebook wherever I am....well maybe not everywhere but most of the time. I even take on projects that are not mine....I really don't mind. To be honest with you for me it's an adrenaline rush....and i love the feeling!
Ha! Well I'm sure your coworkers are glad to have you around Bindu. Some instructors really thrive on organization and task completion. If you're one of them, it can be a real rush and you may find yourself in a wonderful position to help others.
It is important to have a lot of space in order to be organized. If you don't have a lot of space, it is important to learn to use space effectively.
George, While space helps, many of us simply don't have it. So the question often becomes how do we stay organized in small spaces. Small spaces really put our organizational skills to the test.
