What causes stress ?
For me balancing work and family is the biggest source of stress. Also working from home is great in many ways but also stressful as I always feel like I am working but also attending to something or the other ( phone call, kids' homework, housework etc ) I am constantly trying to stay calm and multitask and often getting stressed in the process.
Do any of you feel this way as well ?
My biggest cause of stress is dealing with my tenants in my rental unit. They are constantly late and have issues that I have to deal with. To relieve this stress, I will sell the unit when real estate recovers.
I have found that closing the door to my office for certain times does prevent interruptions. I also assign myself a timed period of work with breaks every hour for a few minutes. All non work related questions/tasks/problems are dealt with during these break periods.
I agree Pierre. Closing the office door for brief periods can really speed task completion. As long as we don't do it all the time, it's a great method.
My largest cause of stress is procrastination.
The biggest stress factor for me is trying to balance work and family too. I feel like sometimes I'm putting my job before my family, so then I start feeling guilty.Alot of times I take my work home with me so I can spend time with my family.I try to spend as much time as I can with my family, especially on weekends.

It's common for instructors to experience guilt when trying to work out work - family balance. Making a point to spend time with your family when you can is a step in the right direction.

All of those are causes of stress Mark. The amount of stress caused by each tends to vary from person to person.
Interesting assumption, Shannon. I would bet you that you're fooling yourself in saying that the cause of your stress is procrastination, and that the REAL TRUTH is that procrastination is but a byproduct of your stress, which is likely caused by other underlying stressors. Your procrastination is your way of avoiding having to deal with events that will lead to stress.
