giving continous report on progess
giving continous feedback to the students regarding there work is the best option to push the students to achieve their goals and success in life.
Hi Sanjay,
I concur! Students need to know how they are progessing so that they are motivated to reach their goals.

I make sure that the students have a formal written notice as well as a short discussion of their individual grades at midterm. This is a good motivator and also gives the student a chance to voice any questions they may have about any of their grades at that point. I always make sure to have valuable suggestions and some positive comments to share. I also let them know when they can expect the midterm notice, usually about a week before.
Hi Ronda,
You really go above and beyond to show your students that you really care about their success. I love your caring ways and positive attitude.

I agree you have to continue to try to motivate students to do better in class; this will translate into real world success
Hi Edwin,
As instructors, we have to be our students biggest cheerleader, rah, rah, rah!!!

I believe sharing student feedback is essential; it provides a sense of accountability. Also, in my opinion it highlights student centered practices.
Hi Talbatha,
Students need to know how they are progessing in a class on a continuous basis. It should never be a surprise to a student when he/she receives an "F". We should keep our students well informed.

I feel that a simple e-mail stating the receipt of class projects or required papers makes the student feel less anxious ie: "did you get my report" "now I have proof that she got my project before the due date" I find this empowers them in a way.
Hi Sherri,
Students like hearing from us via email. This practice is very empowering.

In my 10-week course I give weekly grade updates so that nothing comes as a surprise. This weekly grade includes participation points, quiz points and attendance points (all spelled out in the syllabus). Also included are suggestions to improve grade in any given area. So often the student is not aware the grade is slipping. I find this really helps!
Hi Joanne,
Extremely helpful! You are right, the students can not use the excuse they did not know. What a great way to keep students informed of their progress.
