Late Work / Online Classes
I have online classes and I get late assignments every term. I always have a few students who do not turn in enough work and do not pass. I would like some advice on how to handle this situation.
I constantly call, email, and even text students now to get their assignments turned in. This is an ongoing issue for me and I wish I could get the majority of it solved.
I post due dates on our online class calendar. I always post in bright colors, bold, different font. Nothing seems to work.
In our online live lectures, I also remind students about our due dates. With all my pushing and interactions, I still get a few each week who are late or do not turn in anything at all.
Does anyone have any other ideas I can try. I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
Reyna
Perhaps having students sign a "contract" at the beginning of the course accepting the requirements of the course, would be helpful.
Hi Reyna,
It sounds like you are certainly doing everything on your end. You may want to try, if possible, to have mini assignments with various deadlines to complete the entire assignment.

Hi Leslie,
Students signing a contract makes it stick. Students feel more accountable when a signature is secured.
