whether you incounter a student that is quiet, loud, mean or just unhappy the instructor will be able to target those students almost immediately. These students might have issues at home which is why they are acting out. Whatever the case may be it will be worth the instructors while to find out why they behave the way they do so they can respond to their needs accordingly.
Silent behaviors, from my experince, bring openess when they are in a lab or hands-on situation.
difficult students act in a variety of ways.
one is always being late, we lock them out if they come after the cutoff period we have established in our student manual. As far as dealing with them in class, if they are disruptive to the point of interrupting class, they go talk to student services.
