new instructors
New instructors often rely on student feedback to figure out if they are doing a good job or not.
Hi Yahaira,
I let my new instructors know of every concern/complaint or positive thing mentioned by students.

I read in a previous forum that one teacher uses student feedback forms, or surveys. Depending on how you feel about this, it might be a good idea to implement as you will get direct feedback on what is working, and what isn't.
I think this is very important and it is only effective if the instructor has an open mind.
I feel as a new instructor, the more time I repeat a class I feel that I'm more cofident.
Hi Angela,
You are right! With time you will have the profession down to a science. The more you do it, the better you will become.

I am new to the teaching field and I have so much respect for those who have made a successful career of it. It is extremely challenging but hopefully will be just as rewarding!
In my Career College the students complete online surveys once a month on their instructors.
The survey scores and comments are shared with instructors by the Campus Director. Issues are quickly identified and there is an opportunity for the instructor to make changes if necessary.
Hi Deborah,
Awesome way to get feedback from students quickly. Surveys can certainly be used as a tool to make things better.

Hi Patricia, I think that's the best thing you could do to support your new instructors! Feed back is very important for the instructors so they have an idea where their strengths and weaknesses are. This helps them become more effective and confident as an instructor. And the students then benefit from that!
Hi Stephanie,
Absolutely! Instructors need constructive feedback, both old and new instructors.
