Eye Contact As Way Of Discipline

I have found out that using eye contact in conjunction with being silent for a few seconds during lecture gets the adult learner (who is acting off or having a side conversation)back on track and focused on the lecture.

Yes, this does have some effect on the students for in a way they are being put on the spot. There are students who realize that they are speaking out of turn and stop the actions they are presently doing and I can continue with the lessson.

I think eye contact is one of the best way of discipline.

During eye contact and keeping silence at the same time I am sure the student already seeing the whole picture of the situation that had been created in the class and exactly what the teacher would love to say.

Good eye contact is a perfect choice if discipline

I have been told I've been very good as using the "evil Eye". it does work great as a form of discipline

Yes, I stare down my students sometimes to get their attention
