POSITIVE ATTITUDE
I find that when I come into the class with a positive attitude the studens are better relaxed. There is no tension. they absorb the daily lesson much easier. They retain more information.
Starting class with a positive attitude I find my students are coming into class asking how my day was did I do anything before class in general just making an open enviroment for everyone.

As a new instructor I find that it is better to be in the class room and greet your student when they come in. This show them that your are just as eager to teach them as they are will to learn.

I have learned that the only way to motivate students to do what is required and much more is to inspire them with a positive attitude, empathy, go out of my way to know them while really listening to them. There is real power in positive reinforcement. Negative reinforcement gets me nowhere. If I try to be strict and mean they do the opposite of what I am telling them to do. If I empower them to make great choices and spark their interest they are excited to show up and do a great job. A positive attitude goes a very long way!
