ODD

What is the best way to help someone with this disability?

Easier said than done, but resist the urge to raise your voice. It only makes the situation worse. Have clear, established expectations; put them in writing so there is no confusion. Also have clear, established consequences. Follow through is extremely important. If you say it, do it. Sarcasm does not work; humor does. Try to develop trust with the student with honesty at the core. Praise them when they do something positive, but keep it real--not over the top. Try to seat them away from other students that they feed off.
