Reiterate
I reiterate information over and over, because I believe that when you give the same information over again but in different formats, students will retain it better. In addition, it allow them to make reference to the everyday scenarios.
shaundas, it is important to make information relevant.

I am sorry, maybe my response was too vague. I attempt to describe how I reiterate to students so I understand or confirm they are retaining the information. I reiterate the information taught by utilizing my on the job experience and past scenarios I dealt with while a staff person prior to managment. I usually do not incorporate games to learning material. However, I just started recently when a publisher provided a website on how to create crossword puzzle by just plugging in the material from the book. Now I see the benefit of utilizing different resources to get the students learn the material at their own pace. I also understand students comprehend better when you combine a fun activity to learning.
I use different methods to review the same material and relate it to the real world. If we are studying the cardiac system for example, I will have models, dissection, different fun activities - like crosswords, jeopardy, pictionary - lectures with outlines of notes etc.
Traci, the variety of ways to learn helps to make your students successful.

I try to do the same things as Traci...Adding activities such as crosswordpuzzles, Lab work, and anything I can get my hands on to reiterate and make it more interesting so they retain the information better.
Christina, I agree that spicing up the activities is a good strategy.
