Using role play
I have used role play in the past to teach defense mechanisms. The students usually get a laugh while learning, which has helped them remember the defense mechanisms.
Having the students do role play sounds like a great way to keep them actively engaged in a topic/subject. Sometimes we need to step out of the relm of always lecturing and have the student become active players in their education. We want every student to know that learning can be fun.
Tammy, I know it is sometimes a struggle to give up some of the lecture, but giving the students ownership of the content will increase their understanding of it.

I use role playing for several of my learning objective for my course. The students typically enjoy it which can relate a long term learning experience.
