Make Your Own Affliction
One fun activity that I like to do, is have my students use prefixes, roots, and suffixes to create their own "ingenious" pathologies and afflictions. They then write them on the board and the class has to define the affliction. The one with the most right wins. Some of the "conditions" they come up with are absolutely hilarious.... but it helps them remember their terminologies.
Sharyn, it's so nice that you have created an activity that helps them to understand the basis of terminology from the beginning.

That is an awesome idea! It certainly gets them thinking from day one. That can also help you to asses where the students are in their learning and know how to move forward or know what you need to focus on. Great idea!
This is a great idea- thanks for adding. It might be fun to include things like this in quizzes mixed in with real terminology, to keep them thinking.
I agree this is a great idea. I will definately use them and also purchase a software as mentioned. Thank you
