Visual Aids

visual Aids are a good way to keep the class active which will promote retention of the information.

I try to make the students use different color pens to try and memorize material.. For example, all circulation material would be in red, all neuro material would be in blue- I feel it helps with memorization.

Visual aids give them something to look at and relate with the word forming so they create a comparison to better remember the words.

In Dental Hygiene, visual aids are a must. Students will remember the anatomic landmarks if they are given a skull not just a picture. I find that 3D images are much more effective than plain paper.

Marguerite, in your classes, it is most important to use 3-d models of I imagine some students could be lost when asked to find landmarks after looking at flat images.
