This module made me aware of many interesting interactive games to introduce in the class room setting to make learning fun rather than pure memorization. I was familiar with crossword and word search activities but ball toss, finding the match or flip card games seem very promising and fun activities.
Using Individual Activities to Teach Medical Terminology: Reflection and Application
This module highlighted the effectiveness of individual activities in helping students learn and retain complex medical terminology. By focusing on individual tasks, students can learn at their own pace, which is essential when mastering detailed medical vocabulary.
To apply these techniques, I plan to incorporate flashcards, matching exercises, and personalized quizzes, allowing each student to work independently on their understanding of terminology. Additionally, I’ll encourage journaling activities where students document and define new terms within case-study contexts. This approach will help students build a strong, personalized foundation in medical language, ensuring they're better prepared for clinical and professional communication.
