Communication Code of Conduct
I found the examples in the Communication Code of Conduct will serve as a terrific tool to guide the communication in my online courses. I have some of these tips posted, but the list provided in the lecture is more comprehensive and I would like to borrow it. Every ground class I teach has a section in the syllabus about conduct and respect, and so should an online course with these additions. Thank you for the bulleted list!
Patty,
As we need examples, the students do too. Think about that when you give assignments/projects/etc.
I do like a Communication Code of Conduct to help students understand the communication expectations. Thanks!
Patty I agree with you about needing to establish a code of conduct related to communication. I think we take for granted that adults know how to properly communicate and behave. Do you feel that this code should be emphasized with the faculty as well?
Terrence and Patty,
Thanks for continuing the conversation. Everyone in the course (including the faculty) should follow the code of conduct. We serve as role models, so we should follow the rules as well. Thanks for bringing this up.
Patty:
I agree, I copied these and will use them in upcoming classes. I like the idea of having a code of conduct for communications. It simply puts everything up front so there isn't any gray area.

Rachelle,
So glad you got some things you can use from Patty. Love that we are learning from each other in these forums.
