Enjoying the difference
Personally I love having all ages of students. It keeps class interesting as all have something different to contribute. The youngest are always on top of popular culture and the oldest have wisdom of life experience to share. In the best classes it creates an environment of tolerance and respect.
Pandora,
We all learn from each other and when we figure out that other have more experience and can teach us something, we've already learned something. ;-)
Hello,
I definitely agree with you that it is great to appreciate the differences and it can make things very interesting. Do you feel that you have to be involved in the overall process to ensure that effective communication happens with the differences?

Sharon,
I think many times the differences "pop-up" and make themselves known and students begin to work with/through/around them. This is where the communication starts to occur and becomes very important. Some times we have to have conversations about learning from each other and that our peers have something important to share because of who they are. Thanks!
Pandora, Yes, I too find that diversity to be very stimulating and when students are motivated to learn and excited about whats next, that is when we as instructors are most alive and functioning at our highest level of effecitveness. Joe Skeens
Joseph and Pandora,
I agree. As we learn from each other all the time, diversity adds to the learning potential. Nice job.
