Understand your level of tolerance and how to handle high levels of stress
To the point and spot on! Nice
I agree, you can't necessarily control the stress that you encounter, but you can control how you react to it. It's all about perspective and management of your time/energy/resources.
Regina,
Knowing exactly what you are capable of within your job will lead to higher levels of job satisfaction, and help to curtail stress levels. That certainly does not mean to stick within a box and never get out. Stretch your wings and learn on a curve!
In stressful situation, directing that negative energy into positive energy, such as exercise wil relieve stress.
Very good advice.. I take this Stress and job burnout course to do a inservice presentation.. Thanks for all the advice..
Very simple and to the point. If you can't handle something then get help or handle what you can and not what you can't.
deflecting negative energy is so key. Turn the conversation around to something positive. Sometimes I have even had to turn my face toward the board as if I was going to write something so I could take a deep breath, put on a smile and turn around to confront the class with a smile and positive attitude.
Sometimes little help goes long way and it also energizes you.
Having taken over a health clinic in distress raised the stress level. The staff is great and helpful. That helped greatly. In time off maximizing time with family and grandchildren reduce the negative stress.
