Official Transcript, which is sent from the student's school directly to our school, unopened. I believe an official transcript from all schools attended, post high school, is required as part of the admissions process.
Letter of Recommendation: a letter from someone other than a relative. I have to be clearer on this, as I don't remember off hand if it needs to be a personal or professional recommendation.
Short essay: a short essay of why the student wants to attend our school is required as part of the admission process.
GPA: This is the student's overall grade point average. Our school requires a GPA of 2.0 or above to be accepted as a candidate for a degree.
Most prospective students are interested in the accreditation we currently have. Also, the enrollment agreement is probably the most important document during the admissions process, as it outlines the terms of enrollment and provides information on the policies of the institution.
the most commonly used words/phrases in our admissions process are:
-Prospective Student
-Studio Tour (tour of the campus and our studios which provides all needed information on our program and curriculum)
-Financial information meeting (where the prospective students and/or their families receives specific information on tuition, their payment options, scholarships and use of benefits such as FL Prepaid and GI Bill)
-Enrollment documents and document checklist (includes scholarship application, enrollment contract, rules and regulations contract)
-Enrollment
-Pre and Post-Graduate meetings and placement (Includes but not limited to working with a student throughout the course to make sure they are on track, meeting(s) after they have completed the course to review work, grades and feedback and effort put in to try and match a graduates goals/objectives/strengths with industry openings)
Some of the terms used in the admission process here are: enrollment, conditional admit, STU status, transcripts, accreditation, degree seeking and graduation.
Overall the terms mentioned above all refer to student status with our university. Working in the admissions department we are continually working with new, returning, and graduating students. Our role is to service the student from the initial application all the way to graduation.
Admissibility requirements--Will the student meet the requirements for our program.
Educational background--How many credits or what degree does a student already possess.
Degree program requirements--Program learning outcomes, degree summary, courses that make up the program and their content, gainful employment disclosures, per credit and total program cost.

Scott,
Transcripts must be official transcripts. They cannot be issued to the student or brought into the school without the certifying official seal in a sealed envelope.

Oralia,
The definitions that you list are outlined in your school's catalog. As we speak with prospective students, we must outline these terms and direct them always to the catalog.

Joaquin,
They rely on us as subject matter expert when it comes to the details of the program. We need to know our products and have the knowledge behind them in order to properly relay that information to the student.
Patty Aronoff
Diana,
Sufficient time must be spent with the students in order to go over the details of the catalog. As a catalog and the enrollment agreement constitutes a contract between the student and the school this is important time.
Patty Aronoff
The enrollment agreement that basically has all the information of the student and the description of Cost, Terms, Rules, procedures, etc.
In the admission process the advisors must explain all programs and been specific on the course that it is into the interest of the prospect student.
