David,
It is important that in the enrollment agreement the total cost to the student is outlined. The student must understand the cost of the program and what the refund policy is.

Shannan,

Credit hours can be assigned in either semester or quarter hours. Make sure that when transferability of credits is under consideration the correct formula is used.

Licensed institutions and admissions staff are regulated by the Florida Commission for Independent Education

Some of them are: enrollment, programs and accrediting agency.

Regarding official transcripts I agree with all you have mention. Official Transcripts are transcript from your school which you graduated or last attended. This would include all classes taken, all grades received, all official information the school has on you including your education major and any milestones or awards or honors. They are so important because to any institution because it will tell us the consistency of good grades of any student which is good because we can have an idea of the student that we are enrolling in our institution

Some of the terms and definitions used are Title IV, Enrollment, Agent, Marketing and Advertising.

The Work Study Program provides funds for part-time employment to help elegible students to finance the costs of postsecondary education. Hourly wages must not be less than the federal minimum wage. In order to participate in this program the students have to fill the FAFSA and have an active enrollment.

Several Terms and definitions commonly used during the admission process at my intuition are the following:

1.Official Transcripts- Transcripts received from the student’s previous institution that are received in a sealed envelope and addressed to the new intuition.
2.GPA- Grade Point Average
3.FAFSA- Option students have to pay for their education
4.Admission Requirements- The requirements the student must satisfy in order to be accepted into the university

Some common terms and definitions used during the admissions process at our school are Cost, Credentials, Student Placement. Cost for our program includes the actual Tuition, Non-refundable Registration fee, Estimated Equipment/supplies, An "OWC" certification fee, Physical and Campus Parking permit. The Credentials are what the student will receive upon sucessful completion of the course which is a diploma for a specific Certification, AS well as 8 other certifications. “Asynchronous” : means that students may access a prepared educational program electronically or by other means, at a time of their own choosing rather than at a specified time.

“Distance Education” : means planned learning that normally occurs in a different place from teaching and as a result requires special techniques in course design, special instructional techniques, special methods of communication by electronic and other technology, and special organizational and administrative arrangements.

This is a very common practice which indicates that it's a solid one that most schools use.

Patty Aronoff

Kirsti,

Knowing the course specific terminology is also important. Many of the terms we use daily are very foreign to the new student.
