Career information resources for your handbook.

Where do you suggest we find accurate and detailed info on careers for the programs offered at a school?

George,
I would suggest that you start with Career Services. They should be working with the students from day 1 to prepare them for their careers. Your school should have detailed information to share with you. Just a reminder though, if quoting information to a student, the source of the information must be disclosed.

I find the school catalog a perfect ressource for all the programs, cost, details, and more. A reliable tool to get the information - if the catalogue is updated on a regulary basis.
In addition all the brochures, flyers, even the webpage with all the information is a very helpful tool.

Daniel,
The catalog and the enrollment agreement constitute the contract with the student. The Commission has specific rules for the information that must be contained in both. They are excellent sources of information.

When discussing career options with potential students it is important not to limit the different career options available, but to also include availability of each career to potential graduates based on historical placement data.

Erin,
This is a great point. The workforce is very dynamic and this is important.

Career Services is the best source since they take specific detail from employers looking for graduates and career placement ensures the prospective employer fills out a detail job specifications. We also have a consumer information sheet with the description, objective, physical demands, safety requirements, license requirement We also provide the average salary based which is not guarantee on spabeautyed.com

Nelinda,
Salary information is such a precarious road. Best advice...show them where to research. Employers are only willing to pay what they can.
