First Day of Class and Graduation day! The key days

On the first day of class we present to students the importance of being well prepared for such demanding market. One of the main topics is the importance of having all required documentations ready to start on the field, and to be available on the market as soon as possible.
We list different web sites and places for the students to look for jobs. All this documentations are presented to students at graduation day, with the assurance that we are here to assist them with any of their needs and to guide them to a successful carrier.
I see this two days, first day of class and the graduation day, as a new beginning of a carrier path that they can make the difference for themselves. We are just tools used by them to achieve their objective. We encourage students to visit us for any additional questions and concerns.
I have a special part of my notebook to present the material to all students at the last day. This is a way that I use to empathize that they will make a difference on their professional carrier.
We also have introduce at the school the suggestion box and what all the staff does ids to get together and collect all the information to discuss the topics we find interesting for the school growth and to better assist new students.

Rosangela,
Thank you for your in-depth post. A student who starts school should be looking at that first day as they would their first job. Goals are so important.

The first and last days of school are literally the best days on the calender. The first days are filled with excitment, intrigue and discovery. The last days are filled with the same feelings but this time they can be expanded to become major milestones in the student's life. It's a time in the student's life where there is a sense of accomplishment. For some students, before they went to school, all they heard was "No." Now, as they graduate and walk across the stage they will forever hear the word, "Yes."

Mark,
Thank you so much for your comment. I see this 2 days as very important days also. When we have the first day of school it is full of excitement and questions. Sometimes teachers overlook this day. I always like to remind then how important it is this days to the students. How to present them with the new path they are going to be at. And the last day it’s more like accomplishment! Wow that is wonderful for each student. 

How lucky are we that we have the tools to change people's lives.
Everyday, 5 or 6 days a week, 52 weeks a year.

IDEA THAT MUCH LIKE YOU USED TO NEW STUDENTS IS REALLY A GOOD START. THANKS

Liusmila,
Key days are very important to the student experience. This is an example of why we love our forums!

I really like what you're saying about preparing students on the first day. What other items/paperwork do you provide them with to help them stay motivated throughout the program?

hannah,
Some schools use checklists to make sure they visit departments. I have seen other schools use trivia contests or scavenger hunts to win prizes for completion.

I believe that these are the two most important days in a students life. Because the first is the day the student got to take the first step for changing there life and graduation was the first day that the student got to show there friends and families what they accomplished.

Andrew,
I agree! It's so rewarding to be a part of that transformation.
