There are two most frequent terms that my school administrator kept using and they are agent and enrollment agreement. She states she can make me an agent at another location. Since I am new to this position I did not fully understand what exactly that means but now I know an agent is allowed to have prospective students complete applications and I can accept the application and fee at a location other than the institution main address.
She also alway refer me to the enrollment agreement as having the institution policy on enrollment outlined.
A term we use alot at our institution is: Advertising (which we use a bus bench and shopping cart) for our advertisment.
The Culinary Arts A.S. Degree at San Ignacio College address traditional European culinary techniques as well as trends in nouveau gastronomy in a hands on teaching environment. Students learn essentials such as management, language, science and nutrition which will broaden their employment opportunities. The web site is www.sanignaciocollege.com.
In Boutique school, students are closely monitored by instructor chefs with a low student to teacher ratio. Staff and students participate in catering functions and community events.
I have all of this information in a file on my desktop. It is a good idea however, to have a paper copy as well.
NORMA,
Agents operate outside of the physical location of the school. They can write business, accept enrollments and work with students. The enrollment agreement and the catalog constitute the contract with the student.

George,
Sounds like a great opportunity for your students. We all love to eat!

NORMA,
All chools operating in the state of Florida must follow the same laws and rules. This provides fair consumer practices for all students, no matter which institution they attend.
Patty Aronoff
Stephanie,
Both formats have their benefits. Make sure that you update both at the same time.

Accreditation is an important word that is common in presentation of the program and also when the prospect has questions about the schools reputation. The enrollment agreement is also a common term that we mutually discuss with prospective students. This legally binding contract provides the necessary disclosures so that the student is aware of the policies and obligations that they fall under once they enroll.
Some of the terms and definitions commonly used during the admissions process at my institution are:
Electronic Questionnaire and "What's Important to You" - which occurs within the first few minutes of the interview and allows me get a strong understanding of why the student is seeking school and learn more about them.
Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools - this is our school's accreditation which allows us to award associate of science degrees and bachelor of science degrees.
Transfer of Credit - this is where I inform the student that we do not represent credits earned at our institution will be accepted by another institution other than ITT Tech.
Schools of study - these are the various schools we offer in which certain programs are offered.
Licensure process/requirements, catalogue, enrollment agreement, title IV, CIE, DOE, admission requirements, transfer of credits.
Hi Patty Nice to meet you. Our Institution has more than 40 years since foundation. Our admission process whe ussualy use terms like admisssion policies, transfer credits policies, admissions requirements, official transcripts, title Iv funds counceling, Middle State Acreditation, programs of study, academic curricula, etc.
I have placed a print-out of each Section of the Rules and Regulations in my own Resource Notebook. This will be an effective reference for reviewing and refreshing. After reviewing these rules and regulations in further detail, I have disccovered that I was not familar with how closely monitored each institution is.
I haven't started my notebook just yet, I am still collecting the data I want to put in it. Some of the stuff that I would like to have are key terms, along with all the school history and data. I also want to add in as much about the schools programs as I can as well.
1. FA/ Financial Aid- Title IV funding, college must be licensed to be approved. funding for students needing financial assistance to pay for classes.
2. Enrollment Agreement-Document that is legally binding between AI and student once signed. Outlines program choice, cost and length of program, rules and regulations, requirements
Enrollment Agreement, Enrollment, Institution and Marketing are used at our campus, daily.
They are all important terms that are thoroughly explained to each prosepective student.
I could summarize information that I have incorporated in my three years working as admission representative. Today I have all information that I need in just one resource, my notebook.
We have all the information in the computer, but also we kept everything in a file cabinets so we can reach the materials when we need it.
At the Institution that I work for we use a lot of the following definitions;
Prospective student, financial aid, transfer of credits, International Student process, Student Services, Registrars, agreements, advertisement, regulations, policies, tuition fees among others.
