I am in the process of putting together my Resource Notebook and going through all the paperwork and asking my advisor about everything. I am learning so much quicker because I have everything in writing and at my finger tips to look back too. I have all the manuals for both the students and employees and rules and regs.
I learned about every packet I need to get to each student and every rule so if a student has a question I am fully prepared and if i forget I have my own copy or everything in my "Resource Notebook" right next to me. which is coming in handy! :)

Vivian,
Excellent! You are bringing together valuable information to one place. Does your school offer the prerequisite courses or are they required from other institutions.
Patty Aronoff
Juan,
Thank you for your post and feedback. Having knowledge of the rules and regulations is very important.
Patty Aronoff
Maria ,
Admission requirements must be detailed and expressed in terms easily understood. These requirements must be uniformly administered.
Patty Aronoff
Ana,
The catalog and the enrollment agreement constitute the contract between the student and the school. By signing the enrollment agreement, the student affirms they have read and received a copy of the catalog.
Patty Aronoff
Rhonda,
Commitment needs to come from both the student and the school. If either party isn't committed, success will be elusive.
Patty Aronoff
Rhonda,
The purpose of the institution says so much about the school for its mission and offerings.
Patty Aronoff
Gail,
The transcript is the official history of the student with a particular institution. Make sure...it is an official transcript from a legitimate school.

Our Resource Notebook has all the pertinent information needed at your finger tip. It has the Academic catalog, Student Handbook has all the agreements attached for example (Enrollment, Ethical, Student Oath and Waiver forms), and the Faculty Handbook. Also our school is a specialty program school so the Students have Pre-requisites that they need to fulfill before attending our institution, I have the Pre-Requisites with Course description and number. I also attached the equivalent courses from neighboring institutions/colleges. The more information you have readily available the better to assist prospective students.
Essentially every bit of information is important and should be place in the resource notebook label by sections to make it easy to locate and access the information. The resource notebook is an excellent reference book to help stay up to date with CIE and institutional changes and as a training tool for admissions and school staff to limit common mistakes by clearly stating what's permissible and what it's not. This course provides an excellent opportunity to update my knowledge about the CIE rules and regulations and also help clear some areas where I was not sure if I had the right answer
