Faye,
The enrollment agreement along with the catalog constitute the contract.

I discovered a lot thanks to creating the resource notebook. I mainly discovered how important it is to know all key terms & their definitions so that I can easily answer their questions. What I didnt know before were some of the specific rules and codes but I have always followed them - I am just more knowledgable of the specifics.

All of the terms and definitions are used by our institution. The most common would probably Agent, (considering I have to describe my role in their education process) and erollment agreement (because this is issued and reviewed with every student). They are very helpful to have on hand at all times.

Mirella,

Agreed! It forces us to revisit the material.

Fredrick,
Some schools charge an application, some charge an enrollment fee. What is important is that any nonrefundable fees are implicitly stated and calculated properly in the refund policy.

gerard,
I would certainly recommend hot links or bookmarks on my electronic copy to make sure I was getting the most current version. Keeping up-to-date takes effort and that is a great tip.

Pamela ,

There is much in the news about the recent hearings and gainful employment requirements. These changes will bring accountability requirements in order to comply.

Patty Aronoff

Jim,

By creating the notebook, you are probably revisiting information from long ago. This is a great way to refresh.

Margaret,
Thank you for adding your learning experience. The resource notebook should be your new best friend!

Patty Aronoff

Nathaniel,

Yes, CIE is your regulating body authorized by the state to oversee non public postsecondary education.

Patty Aronoff

Edward,
Thank you for adding your posting of definitions.

Pamela ,

The enrollment agreement and the catalog constitute the contract with the student.

resource notebook is an A+,because you have to updated with the last changes in rules and policies. This way you are in compliance in having the latest information required for the system.

I have placed the Maxknowledge terms and definitions for the course; applicable Florida statutes; the school's current marketing plan; and the current school's policies. I discovered that our school does not charge an application fee and that all books are included into the overall tuition price.

Well some of the terms that are most commonly used during our admissions process include accreditation of course, because this specifies the legitimacy of the university and under what accrediting body the student will potentially be graduating with. Some other terms or definitions include "academic term" and "advisement", and of course specifying to the student the admissions process, so terms like "accept", "deny", or "conditional admittance".

It is a brand new school, so this notebook will be all inclusive. It makes sense to me to have a paper copy and maybe a computer file where you could search for topics my names or relevancey.

Do you think it would be more advantage to use bookmarks or favorites for saving and searching the States Rules?

Some of the words commonly used would be Accreditation (ACCSC) governing body acting as a gatekeeper for federal funding.

Program- a course or group of courses to attain knowledge and skills leading to a certificate and or diploma.
Regulations- The institutions rules they must follow to retain licensure and approval.

Title IV
a federal allocation of funding for post secondary education Approval for such funding requires that the institution be licensed and approved at state level and accredited by an recognized accrediting agency (ACCSC)

Enrollment- Registering a student to take a program or course to pay tuition and obligates the institution to provide instruction.

Enrollment Agreement- a legal binding contract sign by applicant the contract forms an agreement to the terms and disclosures and policies of the institution. the signature is the acknowledgment .

As with most schools, Enrollment Agreement is a term we use as well to define the legal binding contract between a student and our unversity.

Student Consumer Information is the term we use to describe the federal regulations that we are required to disclose to students.

I have started building my Florida Resource Notebook with our catalog, enrollment agreement forms as well as having handy the Rule 6E-2.010, F.A.C. Agent document and the Chapter 6 Rules document provided in this course material.
