Iris,

Reviewing the regulations alongside the documents your school uses is a great way to reinforce the knowledge you have gained.

Patty Aronoff

Iris,
Developing the notebook is an excellent way to learn the regulations and how they are applied to your everyday tasks in admissions.

Patty Aronoff

Rachel,
Both formats have their advantages. It is great to hear that you have already seen the benefits of the notebook. Best of luck to you!

Patty Aronoff

Maria,

We must remind ourselves of the importance to keep current and refresh ourselves in the regulations that guide us. It is for the protection of our institutions and the students we serve.

Patty Aronoff

Rachel,
So many acronyms! They become a language of their own and we must take note that many people do not have a full understanding of the terms.

Patty Aronoff

Russell,
Branding is what connects you to your market. It says so much about your institution in the consumer mind. It is your reputation and product.

Patty Aronoff

Carlos,

Refund policies are very important and should be well understood by the prospective student. While it is a topic we do not want the student to experience, we must fully disclose what happens financially if a student decides to withdraw.

Patty Aronoff

Juan,
The catalog along with the enrollment agreement constitute the contract with the student. Make sure the most current of each is given to the student.

Patty Aronoff

Timothy,

Definitions create a language of understanding. The terms must be fully explained and used in the correct context. Taking the time to explain is critical for student understanding.

Patty Aronoff

I have placed my Enrollment Agreemnet along with my catalog. Also have included the rules and regulations that I printed. I believe that this is the best way to be able to cross reference my questions and answers with my school's policies and the rules and regulations.

This is basically the same thing I have done. I believe that this is the best way also.

TEAS, FAFSA, NCLEX, clinicals.
I am admissions for an allied health school, so these are terms I use on a daily basis. I need to know the pass rate for the NCLEX, the acceptable score for the TEAS, what the TABE test is, what the NLN is, and of course FAFSA and clinicals.

I think this is a wonderful idea, and I have begun building mine today! I, too have a somewhat electronic version, but having the hard copy will help me tremendously. This is my first foray into admissions and if I would have thought of this months ago, I wouldn't have run into some of the problems I initially encountered.
