We definitely use the terms "enrollment" and "programs" and "scholarships" regularly in our process. Students constantly want to know what programs we offer; what scholarships are available and when they can register--or be fully "enrolled."

Some of the terms commonly used during the admission process includes accreditation, agent, enrollment, commission, advertising, Florida Administrative code, and marketing.

I like this tool because it is a great way to ensure the quality of information we are giving to prospective students. I have placed the catalog, terms and definitions, organizational chart etc. I have also included infomation of various regulations. This not only protects the prospective student but I feel it will also protect me as an admissions rep so that I can deliver accurate information.

I have printed every page from the course that you are able to print. I also made sure to include the links of the various rules and regulations.

The enrollment process cannot be completed before the student is admitted to the institution and the admissions departement does not work with that process.

The most commonly used terms and definitions used on the admission process at the institution that I work are:

1) Admission form – Form used by student to enter his information and desired academic program. This can be also completed electronically.
2) Admission disclaimer – Form that indicates that the institution does not guarantee the student will be hired on the workforce upon completion of academic degree.
3) Recommendation letter – Attached form on the admission form which must be completed by three individuals (not family related) for recommendation purposes.
4) Online tutorial form – Is a form that informs which tutorials the student must complete before he enrolls on a online program. The student can complete the tutorial in our location or online. This also includes the minimal requirements the student computer equipment needs to log into the online learning platform.

We are opening a new school, so I will be the one creating the very first Resource Notebook for this school. I am so glad for all these guidelines because I will basically be the one who sets the standard for admissions since I am the first and only admission rep at this school. It makes me a bit nervous but with these guidelines I hope I can make a very useful notebook of information regarding the school, and I will certainly keep it next to me for constant reference!

Erika,

It is a process to bring all the materials together to form the resource notebook, but the end result is well worth your efforts. You will find it the most valuable book in your office.

Sara,
All advertising must be clear and truthful. There can be no misleading information in advertisement. The Commission will review all advertising material at the time of the school's license renewal or at site visits.

Roberto,

Excellent posting! You have demonstrated the importance of terms with clear definitions. These terms must be clearly understood and used in the proper context when conducting business.

Patty Aronoff

Nancy,
Scholarships must accurately explain the process for disbursement and include the disclaimer "or those who qualify."

Patty Aronoff

Maria,
The enrollment agreement and the catalog constitute the agreement between the school and the student.
