We do have to be proactive in keeping up with any new information. The CIE website provides access to the rules and laws and alerts you to any changes.

Yes, I agree. The CIE website is key to keeping up to date. Also, I feel it's very important to have a good working relationship with your CIE representative so you can clarify any new regs or rules.

Is the CIE office directed by an appointed administrator from the Governor's office?

Yes. If you look at the beginning part of the rules or the statutes it explains how the commission is organized and regulated.

Does the CIE post notifications when changes are made to the rules, regulations, and statutes on its web site?
Also, are you aware of if they maintain an email list to which I can subscribe?

CIE does post changes on their website. All changes in the regulations must be posted on the Florida administrative weekly. This website is maintained by the legislature. You might want to check their website regularly.
