Koffi,
Excellent explanations of your key terms. Providing such thorough information to your students gives them a strong understanding of these terms and how they apply to their student experience.

Patty Aronoff

Dear Patty,
As an Online institution, we are expecting to have student enrollments in foreign countries. Are our agents in foreign countries required to comply to the Florida rules and regulations ?

Is the yearly publication of security report also applied to online institutions?

accrediting agencies provide volunteer membership for institutions and act as gate keepers for federal funding program participation if they are approved and recognized by the us department of education accrediting agencies are classified generally as national or programmatic depending on their charter approval and scope

The followings are some of the key terms and definitions used during the student admission process to highlight what we are offering to them:

1.Online School: All the Courses are delivered via the internet to the student desktops or laptops.

2. Synchronous Learning: The simultaneous participation and communication between the instructor and student or student-to-student.

3. Asynchronous Learning: Teaching and learning take place without the constraints of time and place. Students complete their work whenever they please.

4.Academic term: A nine-week period, with eight weeks of instructional time which includes a four-day period for preparing and taking the final exam.

5. A certificate: A five course program for 15 credits with learning outcomes achieved through at least 300 clock hours of student-centered learning activities, comprising at least 100 clock hours of academic engagement, and 200 clock hours of out-of-class student work.

6. Credit transferability: The institution does not accept transfer of credit previously earned for its certificate programs; the institution does guarantee the transferability of credits earned in its certificate programs to other educational institutions.

7. Tuition: A fee paid for education. The student is responsible for the payment of the tuition pertaining to his/her program of study.

8. Non-refundable application fee: Initial fee charged by the institution for processing student admission.

9. Tuition Refund: Student may cancel his/her Enrollment at any time and will receive refund of the tuition paid according to the institution's Tuition Refund policy.

How helpful and necessary have you found the resource notebook?

Marissa,
It is very important that the prospective student understand these terms and how they affect their student experience.

MONTFORT,
The enrollment agreement along with the catalog constitute the contract between the student and the school.

Some of the terms and definitions we frequently use are financial aid, enrollment, and admission. We use these terms when we talk to prospective students and answer their questions about these topics.

Well, many terms are used. The most common ones are enrollment (registering a student into an institution), enrollment agreement (legal document signed by both the institution representative and the student), program (a presecribed group of course)scholarship (grant-in-aid to a student), and many more.

Koffi,
The enrollment agreement along with the catalog constitute the contract between the student and the school. When the student signs the enrollment agreement, they are stating they have read and received a copy of the catalog.

Alisha,
Excellent practice! Anytime that a call is recorded, you must receive permission from the caller. Admissions calls are often reviewed for compliance.

Patty Aronoff

Ashley,

Accreditation is a voluntary membership to an accrediting body recognized by the USDOE. The term often is confused with licensure which is awarded by the state and is not voluntary.

Patty Aronoff

Lauren,

Scholarships must have set criteria for the awarding of the funds. The criteria must be published and available for inspection.

Heather,
Orientation is an exciting day for the new student. It bridges the gap between admissions and academics.

Sorry, I had to run away from my computer for a while, and now back to business.
Our institution is not running yet. We have recently submitted the application package for certification to the Florida CIE. A training certificate for student admission is a required document in the application package and for this purpose, i am very glade to register for your CM201 course. I am confident I will successfully complete your course soon. Most of the terms and definitions are in the School's catalog. In the admission section of the catalog, there is 1.)Statement of Recruitment, which basically empathizes the compliance aspect of all federal and state regulations in recruiting students, avoiding misrepresentation and misleading information and more. Although we will be a purely Online Institution and our recruitment strategies will mostly be via the internet, were are currently developing school policies for student recruitment/admission. 2) The enrollment agreement form is a critical document in the admission process. 3). Other Key terminologies include: admission requirements, Acceptance to the school and more.

We always ask for express consent on every call and let them know that the call will be recorded, from there we discuss what program they are interested in and before an application is done they have to be transferred to financial aid to dicuss cost.

Enrollment and enrollment agreement would be a most commonly used term. It is the understanding that the student is registering for a certain class for a certain amount of time set for completion. The student understands the types of classes they are signing up for. For an example, Mr. John Smith understands that he signed up for an aviation degree and knows his first course will have to deal with fundamentals of aerodynamics at XYZ College. The student should be informed of the enrollment agreement. How long the course is and how much it is. They are basically signing a contract thus being the enrollment agreement.
