Why the title of counselor can not be use
Could this be misleading
Yeni,
Yes, it is misleading. The term counselor did notice that you have been certified and achieved a high level of education to counsel someone.

very misleading unless certified as a licensed professional coulsellor...
Good to know!!! I mean anyways I have never heard the term Admissions Counselor BUT have heard that we counsel people maybe referring as trying to find out different ways to help a prospective student and also because we have to be excellent listeners for them. Indeed, we advise prospective or enrolled students.
Kenneth,
You got it! There are huge differences between the two.

Heidi,
It is an interesting relationship that we have with our students. In many respects, we are there guidance and source for knowledge.

A counselor is a person trained to give guidance on personal, social, or psychological problems. We are representative of the school that are trained in facts only. we have to meet standards and guidelines.
Andrew,
Excellent discussion point. You are truly representing the school for which you work and the programs your school delivers.

I have seen these types of titles used in the past. The information presented in the course was insightful and added clarity.
