Jessica,
Good point! We can use the notebook during a free moment to remind ourselves of the information inside.

Definitely referrring to the Commission for Independent Education rules.

Encouraged me to thoroughly re-read my institution's catalog and enrollment agreement to confirm they coincide with each other and are in compliance with the Florida Statutes.

This has been more informative and helpful for me in my everyday activities.

The CIE website has a pdf version of the rules available. I have that printed and I check the website monthly for any updates. I attend the CIE meetings and I also get a emails from a few education consultants. I noticed they send out emails with updates to the CIE rules regularly. Also, I am never afraid to call and ask my program specialist for clarification. We want to always be in compliance.

I have been working closely with our VA representative for the state of Florida who is full of knowledge and has offered our Campus guidance upon the Rule and Regulatios that regualte our student's.

To learn and stay updated on various Florida Statutes I familiarize myself with the Florida DOE website, as well as using a resource binder at my institution which is contains the most up to date rules and regulations.

I use the resource guide located in student services. If I have exhausted all of my options and cannot possibly find an answer I will go to the Campus Director.

I have my resourse guide right next to me, and when I have a free moment, I look over it.

We check the CIE website twice a month for updates and include them in our Resource Notebook so that all staff members have access to it and have current up-to-date information to inform prospects and students.

Following state websites, reading news articales. Discussing topics with my supervisor, checking our website. Checking Flordia statutes and Rules and Regulations on a regular basis to make sure our practices are followed

We have training for the entire staff at least once a month to discuss new rules and regulations as they apply to New Horizons. We also do a full day of training for new hires before they are allowed to talk to clients.

I am fairly new to this and will ensure to be proficient in it. "http://www.fldoe.org/cie/pdf/chapter6E_rules.pdf" will be added to my Favorites and will print a copy for my binder. I must say that the Florida Statutes and Rules and Regulations are good practice for good moral values. My military background mirrors these values which makes it easy to relate.

leydis,
Make sure you test the links regularly. Unfortunately web addresses sometimes change.

Patty Aronoff

Kim,

It is important to have good communication links at the school. This way, everyone is on the same page and level of understanding.

Patty Aronoff

juan,
We must be proactive in keeping current. You are off to a great start.

Patty Aronoff

Donna,

The rules can be changed at any time during the year. Statutes can only be changed through legislative mandate signed by the governor.
