What is the best method of marketing for generating qualified leads?

Is it through advertising, career fairs, consortiums or lead generating companies?

Referrals are always the best way to generate new leads. Because you spend less time convincing the person to enroll.

Paula,

It is very satisfying. To see their success is very rewarding.

Patty Aronoff

I agree that the best advertisement is from students who've already attended the institution. Their firs-hand experience and stamp of approval goes much further than an impersonal advert. It's very satisfying when past students recommend their family and friends.

Norma,
It is human nature to share our personal experiences. This is a great marketing tool.

I want to add to that Yes you are so correct, that is why I believe in the one-on one contact with people, becoming a walking bill board, has generated succesful leads, with the rep of the instituiton, and the energy and then the students echoing what you are preaching all comes together and albe to change even more peoples lives feels so rewarding and a sense of purose when you share the passion with your students and referrals. FACE TO FACE its free and makes a big impact. that i have found has been successful for me.

Johanna,
We have just a few seconds to capture their attention and retain that image. Marketing is so powerful!

Holli,
I am excited for you! Great event!

I would also have to agree however we cannot grow on PDL's alone. I believe a strong marketing plan that is reevaluated consistantly to change with the times will help generate interest in your school. Also getting out in the community is a great way to not only get your name out there but to really help a good cause. I know I cant wait until next week to work the VIP tent to help raise money for the march of dimesat the annual mud volleyball tournament... What fun!!!!

I completely agree, without word of mouth, indeed a business may not survive. Recommendation are leads that convert at a higher rate, however it is important to remember that the lead flow from recommendations is not as high as the inquiries generated by maintaining market presence in the local community through branding campaigns via TV, radio, internet or any other marketing medium. Marketing is as important to an institution as having phone lines available to assist students. Think of the many leading brands that dominate their market. One can see a Toyota, Coca Cola, McDonald's logos from miles away and immediately recognize what these represent, without necessarily having to see the company name. Logos, trademarks, and branding maintain the top of mind awareness needed to keep the high influx of new student inquiries, as well as to keep current student awareness, motivation, and pride at higher levels:-).

I agree, We are also a new school and we don't have a reputation yet. We believe that each new student we enroll and train will become our spokespersons, and it is our responsibility to make sure that they have had a great experiance at our school so that they will always be saying positive things about us. That is our plan for building our reputation.

Carmen,
These personally developed leads are the best and most economical. We tend to trust those who have been there and experienced it before us.

I agree, referrals from graduates and current students are the best. Going to your top students and letting them know that "We want more great students just like you". "Who do you know that would benefit from specialized trianing like you are receiving?" Asking them to chekc their cel. phone contacts and Facebook contacts for people thay know has really helped. Asking during the interview, during orientation and while they are attending school for referrals are all excellent times!

Gustavo,
Personally developed leads are the best! Others opinions are invaluable.

Word of mouth. I believe graduates and current students are the most important marketing tool we have. Their experiences and testimonials are unique.

Rebecca,
The leads that come from satisfied students are priceless.

Renate,
Your school sounds so interesting! Alumni are a great resource for assisting current students.

personally developed leads are imparative when I worked here before was able to get allot. I think TV and Radio call ins are good as well. But financailly for the school graduates and referrals, giving your card at McDoanlds etc are great tools. word of mouth :)

We are a school which teaches an energy healing modality. Many of our alumnis have been trained as workshop leaders and present workshops in many areas of the country in the fundamentals of the healing arts. This has proved to be an excellent source for creating qualified leads.

Carolyn,
From personal experience, I have been asked for information in the grocery store because I was wearing a school t-shirt. You never know.
