Marketing and Advertising
What types of marketing and advertising does your institution find most successful - traditional (radio, print ads) or non-traditional (digital ads, search engine optimization)?
We do a combination of print ads, digital ads, search engine optimization, TV and Radio. We find for local advertising, TV and radio work best but for national marketing, the print ads and search engines work best. I like spreading our budget over different arenas so we dont put all our eggs in one basket.
Melissa,
The internet seems to be the way most schools are leaning, but realistically whatever produces the best outcome of leads for your school. Some schoos do not even advertise. It all depends....

Helmi,
That is a very good strategy! We need to be fresh in our marketing strategies in this very dynamic and competitive environment.

What are some of the best practices to contact
prospects[in different time zones] for online programs?
Nigel,
As we deal with different locations and time zones, we must do whaT it takes to serve the customer. Either 24/7 operations or adjusting to the time zone of your customer. Many use email as a means of anytime or anywhere communication. Others use a chaT line that is always open.

We find our most successful lead generators be our current students and alumni. Personally Developed Leads (PDL's) are the best introduction to new students looking to change the direction of their lives.
We find word of mouth and Internet to be our biggest lead source each week. Being part of a small town, the friend/alumni referrals make such a difference when potential students can obtain personal details about other's experiences on campus. Our school offers all healthcare related programs, so we do a lot of presentations at local healthcare facilities in our area.
Lisa,
PDL's are great resource! They come with so much credibility and they are free.

Shanley,
Doing presentations in the community is a great way to connect tyour school and the people in your area. Schools today need to be totally infused in community activities.
