Tiffany,
Rules are there to protect both the student and the school. It's just the right thing to do to follow the rules.

Honestly, ethics, and integrity are the basic tenets of our work. When we do all three we have confidence and our student will experience this.

By being compliant, we protect not only ourselves, our institutions, but also our students.
The CIE requirments help to guide me as a representative on staying ethical.
Education is a big industry and we need some governing body to regulate it and to make sure that each institution is being held accountable for what they are representing. We have an ethical right to showcase the education of our institution in an honest way to keep the integrity intact and abiding by guidelines.
The commission for Independent Education requirements affect how you perform your job as an admissions representative or Agent by offering ethics, honesty and integrity as the foundation of the institution.
All of the requirements, regulations and procedures defined by the CIE affect my job considering that some of these procedures were specifically designed to regulate the admissions process and to prevent the misleading information, unaccurate advertising and promotional literature.
The compliance with the standards of the CIE will permit to improve my job performance and to provide the institution with quality and legal procedures.
After reading the different resources in this training I understand that the CIE establishes those guidelines, and directives that are required for every higher education institution to follow. My job should reflect compliance with those established guidelines in order for the Institution to also be compliant with those requirements. As an employee it is my responsibility to stay up-to-date with changes made by the CIE, as well as, it is the Institution's responsibility to establish mechanisms (training, staff meetings, etc.) to maintain the employees up-to-date also.
It is extremely important that each and every employee in the Institution is familiarize with the information and requirements. Admissions and Marketing representatives must always be very careful of the information they are giving to prospects and the changes in the regulations in order to comply. It is also very important for Institutions to minimize the employee turnover because this may be a situation that can really affect the services and the compliance. How long can it takes to a new admissions representative to really understand all the programs and also learn and understand every rule and regulation to comply and do the best job performance?
The commission for Independent Education requirements affect how I perform my job as an admissions representative by setting rules and regulations that must be followed. Following these rules and regulations ensures that the university is operating legally and ethically. It also ensures that student are being given adequate information and treated as the law requires.
In an increasingly competitive and highly regulated environment, admissions personnel must achieve the highest standard of performance to succeed. They must foster an environment of trust and maintain a customer-first attitude. This training program is for admissions personnel who aspire to master the competencies necessary for exemplary performance and top customer service in a dynamic, rapidly changing higher education landscape. Gain an understanding of the regulations that affect student interactions and master the skills necessary to execute a successful long-term enrollment management strategy mutually beneficial to students and the institution.
I agree with you. We must assist the prospect in making the correct decision. Not everyone may be ready to start school. We have to keeping in mind -Ethics-Honesty- Integrity.
Robert - I agree. "Selling" the school doesn't ultimately help the students or the school. If it isn't a good fit, it is much better to talk this through with the applicant and help put them on a more appropriate path.
If an applicant is not a good fit, and they are pressured to join, or convinced to do so, they may end up dropping out or even just resenting the program and telling others not try it. On the other hand, if the issue is handled tactfully, and you can help them get on the road to something that is a better fit, it pays off for both parties in the long run!
