meetings and keeping current

I think its a great idea to keep current and try to do so in the course of every day ... you block out time for call campaigns and then also admin and lunch and tours .. it has a time and place .. even down time is ok or multi tasking while perhaps waiting on a tour to show up

Training meetings are always good. They allow for admissions to see what they need to improve on and provide more information as to how the student can benefit from the programs. Working with your DOA is a great way to gain more knowledge about the programs at hand and what are the best points to tell a studnet.

This is a good point because if you do not study on a regular basis you will forget information. We always have down time during our day so we can use that time to better educate yourself.

I always find it helpful to work hand in hand with my DOA. She is there for me when I have questions or need help.

Melinda,
A little bit of time learning and developing will pay off for you! Great advice!

Jennifer,

Trainings are important and not just in admissions! Training between departments strengths the institutional knowledge base and brings that team effort forward.

Jennifer,

Study! Study! Study! That is what we tell our students. We should take our own advice~!

Jennifer,
Your Director of Admissions should always be there to help!

In our admissions department we have weekly meeting to catch up with each other, talk about our concerns and dobts. Once we discuss our questions and we find the right answers we can do our job better and it is easier. We communicate a lot and if does not know the answer then the other person might, it helps us to help one another and also save us time

we have a staff meeting every week and go over current or revised policies. we also have conference calls to discuss compliance and admission roles

Legna,

Keeping everyone on the same takes effort. Sounds like you are doing a great job.

Patty Aronoff

Eric,
Conference calls keep us on track with the remote staff.

Tranings and meetings are very important. That's one of the ways to make sure everyone is on the same page and up to par on what's current. It also allows time to share best practices and other topics that might need to be discussed.

Tamara,

Yes, and don't be shy. When everyone shares, everyone learns. Bring cookies (food brings people together!)
