Effects of DVR in Television advertising
With the popularity and ease of availability of DVR's today, have you noticed a decline of leads coming from TV?
Hi Rona, this is a very good question, however, not the easiest to answer. We have seen lead flow decrease over the last 5 years from television as you evaluate individual schools, however, we believe this is more a result of greatly increased competition, increased internet usage, etc., than as a result of DVR usgage. There is no question that DVR's can't be helping our cause, however, it has been our experience that most people are utilizing DVR's for "appointment" TV shows that they really want to watch, and as a result, probably wouldn't have called off a TV spot had they been watching in real time. It will be very interesting to see how things shake out in the coming years.
One thing is for sure is that TV advertising is on its way out. Social media and direct communication with the consumer and their friends/followers is on the rise and will over take the 50+ year old medium called TV.
I am thing of starting a 'tv' channel for your institution.
