I feel that each instructor that is currenlty teaching should take this coure. I wish I would have taken it prior to me beginning my teaching career. There are so many things that I will use in my class and NOT use in my class. I found that trying to be friends with your students is not always the best practice. I also found that making the syllabus stand out will be helpful.
Taking this course I think will help me be better in control of delivering the material and helping the student to become better engaged in the learning process. Helping the student is the reason I became a teacher and welcome all and any classes to enhance my classroom.
This course was very helpfull, great tips! Every newer faculty member should take this course.
In an effort to provide good instruction & classroom management it is important that educators do not act as the "buddy" type of instructor. If an instructors goal is to be his/ her students buddy then establishing clear boundaries will not be fostered.
