Verifying References
How do you actually verify that the references have been updated and more importantly regularly verified? It seems like a task that will get dropped.
That is an excellent question- we just started getting reference letters three years ago but had not conisdered trying to maintain the list and contact information for later- this is a great idea.
It is a challenging task but in the long run the effort will definately pay off. References are one of the best ways to track down a "skip" student so maintaining as current a list as possible is a must!
I understand that you must have some form where students can update the information each semester or at the time that there is a change in your personal information.
Continually updating information is very important that is one of the reason we suggest mailing grades. Everyone wants their grades and will provide a good address.
