Every student is different
We as representative need to be sensitive to the fact that every student is different. For this reason we must always keep an open mind and address the concerns and situation of each individual student.
Jessica,
This could not be a more important point. A student’s background, job history, family makeup, current financial state, and goals for the future all affect how the student approaches both school and loan repayment. Students seek out and absorb information differently, some being visual learners, others auditory or tactile; some students require significant ‘hand-holding’ throughout the financial aid process, while others can act more independently. Schools that do not take the time to engage students personally or that apply ‘cookie cutter’ strategies to entrance and exit counseling, hurt themselves as well as their students.
