Student Complaints

My approach would be by displaying positive attitude each time. Asking question like it is my problem what can I do about it. And also I would be there for the student, be interested, be kind and courteous, find a solution that will work with student and the school.
Christine,
I agree, displaying a positive attitude is definitely a great start. Another approach, may be to ask the student what it is you can do help resolve their issue.

I personally had just started at my college in the last month. So, I have had a lot of questions being brought to me that I didn't know the answers to. So, I would take ownership with a smile, and let them know I am learning too but, I will find the appropriate answer to their inquiry. Most thus far have been great with how I have dealt with the situation and I can definitely say I have learned a lot from these complaints/inquiries.
Miranda,
That is a great attitude to have and being up front and honest with students is always the best approach.
