Satisfactory Academic Process
At your institution, which office has the major responsibility for reviewing SAP issues?
At our Institution, the Office which has the major responsibility for reviewing SAP issues is the Financial Aid Office.
At our school, it is the responsibility of the Financial Aid Office. The IT office collects data from our system and reports it to the FAO. Then letters are sent to the student about their SAP status and instructions on what to do!
The Registrar’s office has the main responsibility to identity the students not meeting SAP and sends out the letters. The Financial Aid Office is copied on this list. The Dean of Academics Affairs meets with students individually on warning to set up a plan for to ensure success. Additionally, the Dean meets with each student requesting an appeal. If granted, a plan is put in place to achieve success for getting back on track. The Financial Aid Office is notified of successful appeals and meets with these students as well as the students on a Warning to review their financial aid status.
The Registrar's office has the major responsibility of reviewing SAP and notifying the financial aid and academic office. However, all parties are involved in the SAP meeting to review at-risk students.
At our school the registrar has the main duty of monitoring SAP, they notify the financial aid office who then notifies the student and talks to them about the ramifications.
