Prompt service

Prompt service is something that everyone is looking for regardless of the institution .We need to have a system in place so that students are not given the run around and make the overall experience of the student a good one.

You are correct. Faculty play a critical role in retention. You can be a very 'tough' and challenging instructor and still gain student respect and make them comfortable. We need to treat them as individuals and take time to assist them, even when they don't ask!

I agree, there are many ways in addition to prompt service that students pay attention to. For example, Instructors knowing each and every students name. In my experience, the student to teacher relationship grows stronger and the students feels more comfortable

I totally agree. In addition to prompt service, I think we should include "personalized". We should make the students feel that they are known not just merely as "student" or SS #....

Students want to feel they are important. One of the most of effective ways to show this, is through eye to eye contact and follow through of their questions.

Absolutely! It is so easy, when we are busy, to simply send the student to the next office without making sure they really will be services appropriately. Taking the extra few minutes to ensure this makes for excellent customer service.
