retention

keep the subjects interesting, answer all questions, and never talk down to your students

Students leave for many reasons. As we have learned in this MaxKnowledge course, everyone within the organization needs to support the students. Financial reasons are certainly a big retention factor, but so is, building relationships with the instructors. Aslo, feeling wanted and needed by others within that environment.

YES! I agree wholeheartedly. We used to have a student success facilitator and he was given some funds to help students out. He ran out of money way before he ran outb of students.

That is true being passionate about what you do makes the student feel comfortable in their major decision of attending that instiution. i beleive that being honest and informative with them is the best policy.

It seems nobody ever wants to adress the issue of financial preparedness. I have seen more students leave for money reasons than anything else.

Patrick--

So true....and difficult. If you are teaching the same material multiple times, it is much more difficult to be awesomely enthusiastic. It does make a big difference to students, though, when we are passionate about the material.

Amen! If you're bored with the information, guess what, you will lose most of you're students attention. The best action is to act like you just found all tihs information out and you think it's the best thing since sliced bread.

Charles--

I couldn't agree more.

When you talk to your students be sure that you look them in the eye, truthful and prompt with answers. Being passionate about the program and the information you are giving them is awesome... the minute that you lose the passion in your delivery or your respect for them you lose student!

Tom--

Very important points--especially keeping the subjects interesting and engaging.
