everyone's important
Every transaction is a relationship.
Nani,
Thank you for this post. Please elaborate on your post. I am not sure I understand.

Another way to say this might be every interaction builds on a relationship. Positively or Negatively or Neutral all interactions will contribute to the other persons attitude & experience. If you think of it this way then you will focus on good customer service. So the customer / students' experience is more positive and they can be successful when they feel supported.
Patricia,
I tell my teachers that "bad days" are not allowed becasue that might be the day a student makes a decision based on interactions within that classroom. It is an oversimplification, but the point is valid and seems to agree with your position.

I agree with you Jeffrey. I don't believe that negativity is good at the work place. We as mentors need to be a positive influence for our students. We need to put on a happy face and be positive while we are in the presence of our students and fellow co-workers. They rely on us to be role models for them. If we are down and grumpy they will not feel comfortable to approach us when they are having a bad day.

Suzie,
Thanks. Good points, and not just because you agree with me.
