The length of time a prospective student spend researching the school does affect the retention process positively.

How have you determined this? If a student does their research in short period of time and has the answers they need that should be more than adequate.

Im going to say that exstensive research could have a negative outcome too. If they look long enough they are going to find out something negative that might deter them from attending the school.

Good point. They may search the internet and heaven knows there are plenty negatives about any profession through blogs. Even though blogs are graffiti with punctuation, people tend to believe them.
