Orientation
I feel the orientation process is a great way for the student to gain information about the school their about to attend. I also believe the instructors need to be involved with the orientation so that the students can meet the instructors.
I completely agree. At our campus orientation the instructors are present and they introduce themselves and give a brief history. It makes the students have a connection with the instructor prior to the start of class.

Is there Q & A time provided? Students asking questions of their future faculty would engage them right from the outset.

If a school has an orientation, it should be mandatory for the students to attend, not optional.
