Making a memorable graduation
This idea I had heard of for people who are on a budget when getting married and I think it would work well for graduations.
If the budget for a photographer is not there or in addition to a professional photographer, simply provide a bowl of disposable camera's in a general area and encourage students, staff, guests etc... to take photos throughout the even, at the end have a staff member, or student services or a depository of some type available at all the exits to collect cameras.
The developed pictures are great with perspectives and shots that are natural and unscripted and can also serve well for both retention and admissions.
Well worth a try.
Interesting idea. Have not thought about this. How do you think the idea will improve retention?

Our small school rented a photo booth for 12.00/day. It came with a CD for each student (300),costumes,scrap booking materials, and provided many years of memories.

Making a memorable graduation makes the student feel special. All the hard work it is starting to pay off
i t6hink that's a great idea if it is well organized for the organisation and distribution of the pic's afterwards. how does it improve retention ? by involving the students more on that important day !
We give single flowers to each graduate as well as their nursing pins. Having small classes facilitates this and I know it makes them feel special.
I think that is a great Idea but I think the student won't like that we already took alot from them. and now we are going to mess there graduation.
Great idea Phil but your dating yourself. Now, with technology, almost no one gets film. It's all digital and put on social media. What we should do is encourage the students to use their cell phones and/or their digital cameras and send the pics to our schools face book site, or have one set up for the graduation. Then the students could view and print from their computers.
I believe that is a cute idea but I also know with less money students feel they are getting less and less. Even when they visit schools there is no longer that fun stuff availbable to give away. I think we need to watch where cuts are made.
We have a small classroom graduation is something to memory and celibate the new beginning future.
Trang,
Is this small graduation at the end of every class or is this what you do?

Our schools graduation was upgraded recently with rave reviews. We had a nicer venue, had a practice run and professional photog. The grads were extremely positive and that is something new for our campus!
Lisa,
A nice graduation celebration is appropriate given the hard work the student has completed.
