ED106
Good course. I especially thought the section about students with learning disabilities was especially helpful.
I am learning from all the courses and the other instructors as well. This is a whole new aspect of teaching for me so I am getting as much infrormation as possible.
I must say that this is the third and the best one of the courses that I have taken so far. I agree that the information on teaching studnents with learning disabilities was very informative. I especially was motivated by the topic on making eye contact with students. I try to do this with all my students, howver, sometimes I think I focus more on making eye contact with those students who seem to be making more eye contact with me, or nodding in aggreement. It cause me to become aware of my own behaviors, and to be mindful to make sure I make an attempt to make eye contact with all my students, and acknowledge everyone, especially those who are a little more shy.
The section on moving and floating around the room was also one that intrigued me. I try to move, and not pace, because I too have had instructors who nervously pace when they are speaking. I learned that there is a difference in floating and pacing, in being an effective means of communication with students. It also allows you to not just interact with the students but to alos monitor classroom behavior, and identify those students who may need some extra help or attention.
