I am constantly updating my lesson plans. If something dosn't work, I drop it and try something else. I also adopt methods from other instructors....
It's difficult not to over-reuse the lesson plans from a previous year. Some kind of re-assessment should take place. Changing textbooks helps in that it forces you to at least shuffle and re-think the kinds of material you'll be covering.
Agreed, I used to have the habit of staying static but you constantly have to evolve with the current technology. An updated lesson plan is paramount to student success.
