While I often think I am giving enough wait time I think I need to give more attention to waiting for students to process information.
This was a good course to learn about active learning and gave me some good ideas to try to implement
I liked this course because it gave me tips and ideas on how to instruct all different learning styles. I have a teacher once at the beginning of a course, have us take a test. It told us our learning style, etc.
I really enjoyed this course and plan on sharing this information with the faculty as they prepare for their courses. I agee with the course in that the biggest challenge is getting students to prepare in advance for active learning. If we can manage to get them to do that, we'll have a much more successfull and fulfilling program.
To further enhance the student's learning experience, I plan to maintain appropriate eye contact, Move about the room more, pause three seconds before responding, and ask for the student to verbalize what has just been said.
This concept of pre-recorded lectures is somthing to wrap my mind around. I can see this working for many of my students. Although, they are adults, they are 20-25 years younger than I and are tech-savvy! I could see how this style of learning would allow them to exlpore activities and become more creative in ideas along with brainstorming fantastic thoughts.
I really liked this class #103. It helped me come up with a couple tricks and simple hints on making better test questions as well as gave me more insight into how people learn and how they can better retain the information.
i am now going to use the "Learning Style Survey" in my first class so that people in the class and I as the teacher can better understand their learning style and better form my class and tests to take advantage of that.
This course was interesting and provided valuable insight into the assessment process. I intend to employ a wider array of exams to assess student knowledge.
I really enjoyed this course and will implement a few new ideas to my classes.
I am going to implement different learning styles that will capture the specific needs of the students, also to develop a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning by using various methods of delivery of course content.
